What is Gap Threads?
Gap Threads is a fun and interactive digital collectible experience at the intersection of technology, fashion, music, and art. On Gap Threads you will find access to iconic moments from Gap’s history, limited edition merchandise from our artist partners and exclusive access to engaging experiences. The digital collectibles themselves are NFTs (non-fungible tokens) that have everlasting provenance and are built on the more energy-efficient blockchain, Tezos. Learn more about Tezos here.
What is an NFT?
NFT stands for non-fungible token. NFTs are crypto assets in which each token is unique unlike a fungible asset like a dollar, where one dollar is interchangeable with any other dollar or cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, where one Bitcoin is interchangeable with any other Bitcoin. Because each NFT is unique, they can be used to authenticate the ownership of digital assets like videos, music, and art. Because of their uniqueness, they enable a digital collectible experience like Gap Threads.
Are NFTs bad for the environment?
Gap NFTs are minted on the Tezos blockchain which is a more energy-efficient "proof-of-stake" blockchain that consumes far less energy when compared to "proof-of-work" blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin.
What is a blockchain?
Blockchains are a type of data storage technology that are distributed and changes to the data are validated for accuracy by cryptographic consensus algorithms.
What is Tezos?
Tezos is a more energy-efficient public blockchain where developers, artists, entrepreneurs, brands, and others from around the world build and engage with a network of decentralized applications. Tezos' modular architecture allows for seamless, community-determined upgrades that deploy new advancements to fuel the next round of innovation. Learn more at https://tezos.com/

How do I purchase Gap NFTs?
To purchase a Gap NFT, you must sign into or create your wallet with Kukai on our Marketplace. Kukai is a browser-based wallet for the Tezos blockchain.
You can then purchase Gap NFTs using your credit card or by using tez (Tezos native cryptocurrency) in your wallet. Once your payment is successfully processed, your purchased NFTs will be available in the Kukai wallet used to sign in to the Marketplace.
What should I know about transactions processed on the public Tezos blockchain?
Transactions made with tez (Tezos' native cryptocurrency) will be processed on the public Tezos blockchain, and your Tezos wallet address will be publicly visible when you engage in a transaction on our site, regardless of your form of payment. Once you purchase an NFT through our site, the transaction will be permanently stored and tracked on the Tezos blockchain. We neither own nor control the wallet provided by Kukai, the public Tezos blockchain, nor any other third-party site, product, or service that you might access or use for the purpose of enabling transactions with Tezos cryptocurrency on the Marketplace.
How do I complete a collection in Gap Threads?
A collection is considered complete when you collect a combination of 4 different Common NFTs and 2 different Rare NFTs from the same series.
How do you fuse NFTs to create a collector's special NFT?
Once you complete your collection, you are ready to create a limited-edition collector's special NFT. You can do so by fusing 4 Common & 2 Rare NFTs. Please note that the 4 Common & 2 Rare NFTs to be fused are chosen at random. Once they are fused, those 4 Common and 2 Rare NFTs will no longer be a part of your collection and you will instead have a limited-edition collector's special NFT. The creation of a collector's special NFT is final and cannot be reversed. In the case you want to retain a certain NFT in your collection after fusing, you may want to collect multiple copies.
What is a collector's special NFT?
Possessing a collector's special NFT unlocks access to purchase limited-edition Epic NFTs. Epic NFTs can be redeemed for IRL merch designed by artists.
If IRL merch related to the Epic NFT is available, how do I claim?
You can claim the IRL merch after you purchase the Epic NFT by clicking on the “claim now” button on the collections page or “claim now” on the homepage when you are logged in. Once you click “claim now”, your Epic NFT will be converted to a “Redeemed” version of the Epic NFT that cannot be reversed. Please refer to your Epic NFT for details on redemption dates and additional information for the IRL merch.
How do I participate in a One of a Kind auction?
You can bid using tez (the currency of the Tezos blockchain) or bid using your credit card. You cannot withdraw a bid once submitted. If a new valid high bid is received when there are 10 or fewer minutes left in the auction, the auction duration is reset to 10 minutes. Bids placed must resolve on chain to be considered valid, which can take up to two minutes. Bids that do not resolve on chain before the end of the auction duration are not considered valid bids.
Each time you bid using a credit card, a hold will be placed on that card equal to the US dollar amount of the bid. If the winning bid was placed by credit card, that user's card will be charged at the conclusion of the auction. All other credit card holds will be released at the conclusion of the auction. Credit card holds may take up to seven days to clear.

If you purchase NFTs with Tezos cryptocurrency or credit cards, your purchase(s) will be transferred to your Kukai wallet after your transaction is processed. Please note that it may take up to 72 hours in some instances for your purchases to be transferred and appear in your Kukai wallet.
